Instructions for Patients

Last few days before Surgery:

Low carb diet (Avoid ROTI, Rice, Sugar and Fats) and High protein (Meat, lentils, egg) diet, Stop smoking (if applicable), deep breathing exercises and steam inhalation three times/day Continue all medicines for BP and diabetes.

Stop blood thinners like Ascard, Lowplat five days before surgery with the advice of your physician.

Notify us if BP is more than 140/90 or Sugars are more than 300 mg/dl. Advance (10%) payment for hospital & Operating Room booking.

One day before surgery:

Soft diet.

Continue all medicines (EXCEPT blood thinners like Ascard, Lowplat) as per schedule.Last meal at 12AM (in case investigations are to be done next morning), continue water.Pre-registration on telephone by our coordinator.

Notify us if BP is more than 140/90 or Sugars are more than 300 mg/dl. Advance (10%) payment for hospital & Operating Room booking.

On the Day of surgery:

8 AM: Take shower with soap water.

9 AM: Leave the home for the hospital admission

Admission process & lab tests (if not done)

Can take water upto 12PM and nothing per oral after that

Special considerations for patients with:

Diabetes Mellitus (Sugar): Do not take any medicines for diabetes on the day of surgery

Hypertension (High BP): Take routine morning medicines on the day of surgery

Blood thinners (ASCARD, Lowplat): Stop these drugs for five days before surgery after discussion with surgeon and/or your cardiologist.
